From 12 to 15 October 2026, the Geneva Peace Forum will be held at the Geneva International Conference Centre. Under the motto "Choose Peace", the event will bring together representatives from politics, international organisations, civil society and science.
On 12 October, he will discuss the importance of standards for peace mediation with the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, the Catalan Minister of State Mohamed Al-Khulaifi and other experts.
A focus is on the series "Mediation in Focus", in which the Department of Peace and Human Rights of the EDA contributes. Seven events cover international law, including peace processes and the long-term implementation of peace agreements.
The new forum continues the twelve-year history of the Geneva Peace Week in a changed format. It is organized by the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform Foundation together with a consortium of Geneva institutions and international partners; the federal government, canton and city of Geneva support the event.
