The Federal Office for Social Security issued a national strategy for child and youth policy. On 8 October, the Federal Office for Social Security issued an inventory and situation analysis.

The future strategy will be based on protection, promotion and cooperation and will be developed together with cantons, communities and civil society organisations. The BSV is planning a ten-year time horizon and close cooperation with the Cantonal Social Directors Conference.

The study is intended to bring together existing data and studies, including digital living environments, mental and physical health, poverty, education, housing, violence, inclusion and political participation. The view of children and young people is also explicitly included.

The mandate is only the first of two stages; the political objectives and measures are then developed in a separate process. The final report will be available until 20 August 2027. The cost roof is 110’000 francs without VAT.
