President Wolodymyr Selenskyj stated that Ukraine did not receive a timely warning from its partners this week on two attacks with ballistic missiles, but that does not mean that the US is keeping all intelligence data back. US President Donald Trump explicitly said on 13 October that the information was forward.
The UN had at least 16’431 killed and 48’613 injured civilians in Ukraine by the middle of 2026; the actual figures are likely to be higher. A UN report published in September also documented 1’004 cases of conflict-related sexualized violence since the beginning of the comprehensive attack by the end of July 2026.
The CSIS research institute estimated that by June 2026 between 400’000 and 450’000 Russian and between 125’000 and 150’000 Ukrainian soldiers were killed. It is estimates that the civilian UN numbers are verified minimum numbers.
